Penned by Juhi Chaturvedi and helmed by Soojit Sircar, October Movie also starres Geetanjali Rao besides Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu.
October Review – Hats off to Juhi Chaturvedi for the exceptional writing.
October does deserve appreciation on the various grounds. First and the foremost being the writing. The film in real sense has been written and not constructed and the real credit goes to Juhi Chaturvedi.
Story of October.
October is a story of the 2 hotel management trainees Dan (Varun Dhawan) and Shiuli (Banita Sadhu) who get into an unsaid bonding in the most trying situations. The film gently moves on with the feelings of love – Loss – longing at its own pace to take it to where it is headed. Calling this movie as slow would be conceptually incorrect as there is no fast forward button to the rhythm of life.
It is good to see a movie where attention is paid to the unexpected halts and shutters in life and the background music is not used to give a crutch. Shooting in Delhi, the city Soojit is familiar with adds realism to the movie. The film is an example to show that no romantic songs and high pitch melodrama is required to express love. It can be depicted not even by words but through speaking glances.
October has a young man Dan who is trying to figure out stuff. He’s a fairly hardworking fellow. Though his realisation that he might have meant something more than just an irritating colleague to Shiuli is quite quick but we can let that go as we are drawn to the support systems, lights, hospitals where the 2 are equally supportive as performers.
Star cast and Rating.
Writer: Juhi Chaturvedi
Director: Soojit Sircar
Actors: Varun Dhawan, Banita Sandhu, Geetanjali Rao
October is overall a good movie but Varun Dhawan is still learning to let go of himself in the movie. We did like the movie but didn’t fall in love with the same.
