IPL 2018, MI vs SRH: Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad faced each other for the second time this season. This time around Mumbai was playing the host but the outcome didn’t differ from the first one. The losing streak of MI continues ad SRH wins by 31 runs.
MI invited SRH to bat first and things did not work in favor of SRH at first. The guests kept losing wickets and in the penultimate over lost all of them. Today no one from the MI bowling team could be held guilty of not performing up to the mark.
With just 118 runs to chase Mumbai’s win was sort of assured. But as they say – anything can happen in the game of cricket. Instead of MI downing an aggressive avatar, SRH downed a belligerent one. MI loss wickets in almost similar trajectory as SRH and lost the match as their last wicket was knocked in the penultimate over. Special mention to SRH’s bowlers – Rashid Khan, took 2 wickets and gave just 11 Runs in 4 overs and Basil Thampi, in his first match of the season served 1.5 overs, took 2 wickets allowed just 4 runs.
SRH has won another fixture and sits comfortably equivalent to CSK on the points table with 8 Points.

MI Playing XI
Suryakumar Yadav, Evin Lewis, Ishan Kishan(w), Rohit Sharma(c), Kieron Pollard, Krunal Pandya, Hardik Pandya, Mitchell McClenaghan, Mayank Markande, Jasprit Bumrah, Mustafizur Rahman
SRH Playing XI
Billy Stanlake has been ruled out of the remainder of the season due to a fractured finger. Bhuvneshwar Kumar isn’t playing as well, but Shikhar Dhawan returns.
Alex Hales, Shreevats Goswami, Kane Williamson, Manish Pandey, Deepak Hooda, Yusuf Pathan, Wriddhiman Saha, Rashid Khan, Siddarth Kaul, Billy Stanlake, Sandeep Sharma.
The last time the two teams met, it was a compelling last-ball finish as Billy Stanlake took Sunrisers past the finish line.
Bowling being their strongest suit, both the teams depend on some of the best bowlers of IPL – Rashid, Bhuvneshwar, Jasprit Bumrah and Mustafizur Rahman.
SRH”S Rashid and Bhuvneshwar have been more consistent but whenever things went south and above par scores are posted, their Batting line up fails to chase it.
On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah and Mustafizur Rahman have slipped and fired in equal measure. In the latter scenario, the game totally slips away, especially in the death overs.
Although neither batting line has fired up as of yet, SRH looks in grimmer water than the hosts. Hyderabad somehow lacks the luster that MI has in Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma. Making it a game that highly depends on the guest’s bowling caliber.
It is straightforward fact that, both the teams need to perform collectively as a team. Just one person in form for the day can save a match but not win the tournament.
