After a decent start and positive review, Padman was expected to remain steady for at least two weeks. The movie has slow down after the first week and seems that it could not reach 100 crore. The movie earn 62.87 crore in the first weekend that included 40.05 crore of the weekend and 22.82 crore of the weekdays. But in the second weekend the total box office collection of the movie was 71.90 crore. On second Monday it earn 1.15 crore, the film is playing on 2750 screens. On its 11th day the collection has become 73.05 crore at the domestic box office.
The movie is based on the taboo topic menstrual hygiene. The film is directed by R. Baalki, it is a biographical comedy drama. Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte are in lead role. The movie is based on the Twinkle Khanna’s book short story ‘The Sanitary Man of Sacred Land’. Padman was banned in Pakistan due to the taboo issue.

Padman was initially scheduled to release on January 25. But Akshay Kumar postponed the release of the film for two weeks due to Padmaavat release because he wants to release the movie on solo screen.
