It has been a mediocre start for Action Kumar and it can be felt that the Sanjay Leela Bhansali’ Magnum that is still running great even in its 3rd week has stole the market for Padman. Akshay Kumar Starrer Padman is inspired from the real life story of Arunachalam Muruganantham, the real life Padman of India. He worked hard to create awareness about menstrual Hygiene amongst the women of rural areas as well as invented the manufacturing of low cost sanitary napkins. In the movie Akshay Kumar acts as the villager who finds out that his wife is risking her health by using rags or newspaper for her periods. He walks out to create awareness amongst the people and also manufacturers low cost sanitary napkins.
R. Balki’s efforts to create a family movie on a topic as sensitive as women’s menstruation is commendable. Akshay Kumar has recieved a lot of praise from the B Town for working in such a movie.
Akshay Kumar’s Padman was undergoing heavy promotion to be released on 26th January alongwith Padmaavat. However on request of Sanjay Leela Bhansali dates of Padman were changed to 9th February. But Padman’s Box Office Collection have been affected by Padmaavat which is still dominant at the Box Office.
