Second biggest hit of 2018
The biopic on the life of Arunachalam Muruganatham, has become the second biggest hit of 2018. Based upon a man who invented low-cost sanitary pads, the film talks about menstruation. A tpics that is considered taboo by many.
It had a slow start with just 10.26 crore on its opening day. The business picked towards the evening and on the weekends as the word of mouth was good.
Content driven movies such as Padman, do tend to have a slow start and their future depends on word of mouth. The verdict and impression of the early audiences convinces others to visit the theatre.
Aiyaary vs. Padman vs. Padmaavat
Both Padman in it’s first week and Padmaavat in it’s third has done fairly well on the weekdays. Aiyaary is stepping up this Friday to claim its share of screens and audience.
Aiyaary has been postponed from 25th January to 9th February and than to 16th February. While Padmaavat is holding its own league, Aiyaary and Padman are in for crucial competition.
