Dinesh Vijan, the producer of Hindi Medium, Stree and Luka Chuppi has confirmed his next great multi-starrer project, ‘Shiddat: Journey Beyond Love’. The film will feature Mohit Raina, Diana Penty, Sunny Kaushal and Radhika Madan. The film is likely to go on floors in September this year while it is slated to hit the theatres in the mid 2020. The film will be shot across Punjab, London and Paris.
The film is reported to have two parallel tracks that focus on the journey of couple duo. Diana Penty will be starring coupling with Mohit Raina while Radhika will star opposite to Sunny. Shiddat has been penned down by two of the most famous script writers, Shridhar Raghavan and Dheeraj rattan. Dheeraj has also contributed in the dialogues of the film. The movie will be directed by Kunal Deshmukh of Jannat fame.
Sunny’s dad, the stunt director as well, Sham Kaushal has taken the initiative to post to his Twitter handle sharing his happiness on the announcement of the film. He tweeted, “God is so kind. Today, it is Vicky Kaushal’s Birthday & announcement for Sunny Kaushal’s new film #Shiddat Feeling so blessed & humbled. May God bless all.”
In a statement producer Dinesh said, “In our day and age where love is taken so lightly, it’s difficult to imagine the lengths people would go to for it. ‘Shiddat’ is a not only a story about love but the distance one travels for it. The passion that overcomes maybe all senses or logic to do things that you wouldn’t usually imagine, the belief in something with all your heart and the drive to achieve it – that’s Shiddat.”
In another statement Dinesh said, “I got married recently, so I’m feeling it, but on a serious note in our day and age where love is taken so lightly, it’s difficult to imagine the lengths people would go to for it.’Shiddat’ is a not only a story about love but the distance one travels for it. The passion that overcomes… Maybe all senses or logic to do things that you wouldn’t usually imagine, the belief in something with all your heart and the drive to achieve it- that’s ‘Shiddat’.”
It is also to be noted that the latest release of Karan Johar, Kalank was also shot with the working title ‘Shiddat’. In an interview Dinesh had revealed, “The title was with Karan Johar and he was kind enough to give it. The word Shiddat captures the true essence of the film and it’s a perfect title for it.”
