Shocked to know! Ranveer Singh’s Gully Boy is copied from this Hollywood film?

Ranveer Singh’s upcoming film Gully Boy is now receiving controversy on social media as some twitter users are claiming that the film shares few similarities from hollywood film 8 Mile. Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer Gully Boy is soon to be released as the teaser of the film released a day before.

Gully Boy Trailer The trailer features Ranveer Singh as a rapper from the local streets of Mumbai who’s passionate to become a star. However, Alia Bhatt, Kalki Koechlin, and other few stars are also playing a significant role in Gully Boy.

All the way, Ranveer Singh is getting huge praise for rapping this ‘Asli Hip Hop’ tune through which he showed his character’s tone. Somehow, twitterati are not much happy about its story as they found some similarities between Eminem’s story, 8 Mile.

Those who have not seen 8 Mile, the hollywood flick actually tells you about the story of American rapper Eminem’s actual upbringing who rose to fame from poverty-stricken streets. Going by the reactions of twitter, one of the tweets reads “I totally appreciate the fact that they are making movie on some real artists life, but can you please stop copying ? Many scenes are rip off from Eminem’s movie 8-mile”

Another twitter handle tweeted “As exciting and raw as #GullyBoy looks, I’m really hoping the makers are true to the ‘street’ aesthetic that @VivianDivine and @NaezyTheBaA represent. Last thing I want to see is a glorified 8 Mile rip-off where Detroit is replaced with Dharavi to please the masses”

While the movie Gully Boy is based on the life of Vivian Fernandes and Naved Shaikh aka Naezy who gave thumbs up to Zoya Akhtar’s directorial. Recently in an interview Divine has said that “he cannot take credit for the actor’s smooth delivery of raps as he had done it all on his own” he also added that Ranveer didn’t require any formal training to do this onscreen.

But before the film went on the floors Ranveer Singh had prepared hard to get into the skin of a rapper.
