John Abraham and Diana Penty playing the lead role in the film, John played the role of Indian Army Officer (Ashwat Rana) and Diana Penty played the role of Ambalika an Indian Army member.
John Abraham said that:
“Parmanu is based on a true story. 90 percent of the plot is factual. The only fictitious elements are the names which we have changed of some people because we got rights and biopic issues. Like in Madras Café, my character was fictional, so it is in Parmanu. You need to tell the story from someone’s eyes.”
Diana Penty Said that:
“I asked Abhishek if he required some kind of gentleness to the character or if he wanted someone really strong. I was not sure what direction was to be given to this character. When I asked him he only said to watch Zero Dark Thirty. I had seen the film many times before but not from that perspective. There is nothing macho about Jessica Chastain’s character, but again, there is nothing feminine too,”
