Bollywood's Priyanka Chopra in Disney's animated 'Planes'

Bollywood movie star Priyanka Chopra has a prominent voice-over role in Disney's new animated film Planes, which releases August 9.


Chopra's character, the plane Ishani, is the love interest of the film's hero, Dusty Cropper.


Of late, Chopra has been pursuing a music career in the U.S. Last year, she signed with a Los Angeles-based entertainment and sports agency and became the first Bollywood actor to win a major record deal in the U.S.


Her first single, "In My City", featuring American rapper will.i.am, debuted last September as the featured song for the National Football League's Thursday Night Football series.


Her second single, "Exotic," featuring American rapper Pitbull, released in July and was chosen as the theme song for this summer's International Champions Cup soccer tournament in Valencia, Spain. The video for "Exotic" was shot in Miami, Florida.


Chopra is a Miss World pageant winner (2000) and an award-winning Indian actress who has starred in numerous critical and commercial hits, including 7 Khoon Maaf (2011), Kaminey (2009), Dostana (2008), Fashion (2008), and Don (2006).
