Match Preview

SRH and RR suffered a mighty blow with the exclusion of David Warner and Steve Smith due to the ball-tampering scandal. But they recovered quickly from it as SRH brought in Kane Williamson and Ajinkya Rahane came to RR’s rescue. Both teams seem to have adapted to the change well during their training sessions, but their real test will start soon.

Rajasthan Royals are back in competition after the two-year ban and has roped in Shane Warne – their title-winning captain – as Team Mentor. They would want to win the coveted title to pronounce their return with a bang.

SRH could not make it to playoffs of last season. They are fully charged up towards not just crossing the eliminator this time but laying their hand on the silverware yet again. Shikhar Dhawan and Alex Hales have to equally shoulder the additional responsibility to make up for the absence of David Warner.

Giving these two tough competition will be RR’s captain Ajinkya Rahane and batsmen Sanju Samson. The Royals are highly depending on Jaydev Unadkat and have paid INR 11.5crore for him, making him the most expensive Indian player in the Auction. Ben Stokes is another bowler in the RR line-up capable of making things happen.

In the SRH line-up, Bhuvneshwar Kumar – the Purple Cap winner in the last two IPL seasons, and Rashid Khan are the ones likely to cause most damage with the ball.
