Ayushmann Khurrana is making headlines on every day as the film Badhaai Ho has stirred storm at the box office. Since it has become cult to watch Ayushmann Khurrana in movies focusing on social issues and Badhaai Ho is his another installment. Released alongside Namaste England starring Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra, Badhaai Ho is doing quite well at Box Office.
Starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Sanya Malhotra, Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao, and Surekha Sikri, Badhaai Ho opened up with Rs 7.20 Crore. While on the next day it has earned Rs 11.67 Crore, on Saturday Rs 12.50 crore, on Sunday Rs 13.50 crore taking total amount to Rs 45.06 crores.
Talking about its overseas collection, Taran wrote “#BadhaaiHo is raking in big numbers in Australia… Something that’s associated with A-list stars or big-budget movies… Thu A$ 1,033 Fri A$ 68,079 Sat A$ 108,815 / 23 locations Total: A$ 177,927 [₹ 92.98 lakhs].”
However, the movie is focused on a very sensitive issue as per the Indian audience’s perspective. It discusses the sex lives of couples with the raised children and the embarrassment of the children after knowing the pregnancy.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the box office figures: “#BadhaaiHo is UNSTOPPABLE… Hits double digits yet again on Day 3 [Sat]… Thu 7.29 cr, Fri 11.67 cr, Sat 12.50 cr. Total: ₹ 31.46 cr. India biz… Eyes ₹ 45 cr [+/-] extended weekend, which is PHENOMENAL.” (sic)
Whereas, Arjun Kapoor’s Namaste England failed to recreate the charm dropped by Akshay Kumar’s Namaste London. According to Box Office India’s report, Namaste England is facing continues dip in its collection. The film managed to earn Rs 1.25 crore on its third day which taking total amount to Rs 4.75 crore.
