Amita Udgata dies of lung failure.

Amita Udgata who played the role of ‘Amma’ in the Star Plus daily soap Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya is no more. She was last seen as dadi bua in Kuch Rang Pyar Ke aise bhi who had come to attend the wedding of Shaheer Sheikh and Erica Fernandez. Besides she was also seen in the films like Hasee To Phasee and Sarabjit. Last night at City Hospital she died of lung failure. Amita Udgata was in the hospital for past 4 days where she was kept alive in the life support system. She finally passed away yesterday after her lungs failed.

Amita Udgata is survived by her two sons Ruchin and Rishabh. The last rites of the actress is expected on Thursday once her eldest son comes to the country. The details about her last rites will be updated here.

The veteran actress Amita Udgata was associated with Doordarshan for more than a decade from 1979 to 1990. She has also been a part of the famous shows like ‘Maharana Pratap’, ‘Doli Armaanon ki’, ‘Baba Aiso Varr Dhundo’ amongst others.

Abha Parmar told India Today that Amita was more like a sister to her than a friend. Abha Parmar is from Kanpur and Amita was from Lukhnow. She added that she was not aware that her condition was so serious. They were supposed to meet today. She was a great friend and a phenomenal actress and they both had faced many life challenges together.
