The millennial star will now be bestowed with Baba Saheb Phalke Award, the nomination to which was announced by the union minister Prakash Javedkar on twitter.
The minister congratulated Amitabh on his achievement and how the international and national community alike is overjoyed with his contribution towards cinema. He also said that he has been selected unanimously by the board and extended his heartiest congratulations. The news, as soon as it reached the masses was turned into one of the happiest moments of this great nation.

The God of south cinema, Rajinikanth lauded the bonafide actor for his supreme contribution and outstanding work. On the work front, the actor will be seen with Ayushmann Khurranna in Gulabo Sitabo as a stiff proprietor. He will also be playing a pivotal role in the two part film Brahmastra, Ayan Mukherjee’s dream project.
