Kriti Sanon who is reigning in the industry with her stellar looks and blockbuster movies is all set to reunite with the gem of Bollywood and webseries, Pankaj Tripathi for her next movie, Mimi. The actress took to instagram to release the first poster of the movie and tagged her co-actor Pankaj Tripathi and Dinesh Vijan, with whom she has worked in Arjun Patiala.
The two actors made their debut appearance in Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s Bareilly ki Barfi and it has been a ride for both of them since then. Pankaj Tripathi, who is lauded as one of the most talented actors in the industry is often seen to choose wise yet witty scripts making the audience go gaga with his performances. The actor who has also won millions of hearts with his carefully curated scripts for web series will now be seen in Mimi which is a remake of the national award winning best feature film in Marathi, Mala Aai Vhhaychy based on surrogacy.
Maddock Films production house has been seen betting their money on movies like Hindi Medium, Badlapur, Stree, all with backbreaking scripts and a twisted storyline, important enough to be conveyed through the medium of movies. And now, with its money on Mimi, we are expecting something bigger and better as none other than director Laxman Utekar from Luka Chuppi fame with be the captain at the helm.
Dinesh Vijan was also caught confirming the stories around Mimi and said that the movie has been inspired by true events. He also said that there has been a sudden wave of telling impactful stories and the thrill increases if they are based on true events. Mimi is a story contrasting the desire of motherhood of two women and what makes the movie special is the hilarity which will run through the course and that is exactly what will make Mimi a blockbuster. The movie will surround around a woman who has an immense wanting to embrace motherhood and a woman who, since she can remember, does not want to be one.
Ayushmann Khurrana has been witnessed picking up stories breaking societal stereotypes and Mimi will break the stigma of surrogates in our society.
