Aamir khan launches mission Shakti – On Sunday, Aamir Khan attended the launch operate of mission Shakti, begins by geographical area minister Sudhir Mungantiwar to coach athletes from chandrapur and Gadchiroli for international events just like theathletics.
Among those present at the event in Ballarpur here was state sports minister Ashish Shelar. “he don’t remember much that I learnt in school except sports. It teaches us how to complete tasks through team-work. It trains us to handle the situation during ups and downs.” Khan told the gathering. Khan also broke on into a song mid-speech to motivate the athletes attending the program.
He felicitated a team of social group mountaineers from here WHO had recently scaled Everest as a part of Mission Shaurya.
Like mission shaurya, mission Shakti too is a brainchild of state’s finance minister and guardian minister of Chandrapur, Sudhir Mungantiwar.
Mungantiwar said youth from Chandrapur and Gadchiroli through mission Shakti will get an opportunity to bring laurels to India in events like the Olympics in future. Being actively involved in social initiatives, Aamir khan had readily agreed to lend his support to the mission after Mungantiwar briefed him about mission shaurya, local talent, wildlife riches and natural wealth of chandrapur.
The minister had detailed Aamir about successful summit of Mount Everest by tribal ashram school students of chandrapur in the first attempt. Mungantiwar informed the actor about his next initiative- Mission Shakti, an innovative project to train select students from the tribal-dominated district in six international games with focus on making them capable to win medals in the coming Olympics.
As part of the mission Shakti, a special sports complex has been readied at Ballarpur. Aamir khan will officially inaugurate the new sports complex to formally launch mission Shakti. The students having talent and physical fitness in these sports will be chosen through rigorous selection process. While the students will get necessary educational facility, they will also be provided with international standard training. International coaches will have six years to prepare the youths for the Olympics.
