Kabir Singh even after getting so many negative comments on it being misogynist, celebrating toxic masculinity and poor treatment of women has made approximately Rs 60 crore in and around Mumbai whereas in Delhi it had garnered Rs 40 crore. The Hindustan Times has given the film one-and-half star out of 5 and wrote a review saying, “Kabir Singh applauds its pathetic protagonist, and ends up an obnoxious celebration of toxic masculinity.” Most of the audiences of Article 15 are in the metros. Rumour has it, Kabir Singh is considered to be Shahid Kapoor’s biggest solo hit in his career so far.
Kabir Singh and article 15 comes under two distinct genres which are attracting the mass. The trade analyst, Girish Wankhede noted, “After a successful 2018, Ayushmann’s having a fantastic run this year as well. He has achieved this feat even though the film was banned in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.” It is needless to say that the films would have got higher figures if there was no ongoing World Cup season.
