Mission Mangal is probably the most anticipated film of Akshay Kumar in this year. The fans cannot stay calm especially after watching the teacher of the highly anticipated movie which looks great. It was indeed a long wait but seeing the terrific terrible it can be said that the wait was totally worth it. The makers of the Mission Mangal have dropped a 45 second promo where we can see Akshay Kumar in the lead playing the role of Rakesh Dhawan who is leading a team of scientists, which includes, Vidya Balan as Tara Shinde, Kirti Kulhari as Neha Siddiqui, Sonakshi Sinha as Eka Gandhi, H.R. Dattatrey as Ananth Iyer, Nithya Menen as Varsha Gowda, Taapsee Pannu as Kritika Agarwal and Sharman Joshi as Parmeshwar Naidu. In the promo clip all of the characters are seen rising to the occasion by come together to launch India’s first satellite to Mars and thus achieving a historic mission for the country.
Mission Mangal is an inspired story which is going to be released on the Independence Day. It is an incredible story and Akshay Kumar is all set to share with all by bringing it to the big screen. The filmmaker Jagan Sakti had planned after the 6 years of the groundbreaking mission to shed some light on the incredible story about the underdogs who took India to Mars. In the promo, Akshay Kumar is seen commanding his team during the launch of the spaceship to his team. On the other hand, Vidya Balan is seen giving instruction to start up the procedure.
Post releasing the first poster of Mission Mangal Akshay Kumar tweeted, “Ek Desh. Ek Sapna. Ek Itihaas. The true story of India’s #SpaceMission to Mars is here.”
The filmmakers took the liberty of making some creative changes like instead of going with the polar satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) rocket C25 from Satish Dhawan Centre in Andhra Pradesh in 2013, they chose to replace it with Russian Soyuz launch vehicle.
However, earlier when asked about Russian Soyuz on the poster, the spokesperson from ALTBalaji had mentioned in her official statement, “Our upcoming show is a fictional adaptation of the real-life heroes at ISRO who worked on Mangalyaan and set a major milestone putting India firmly on the global map. However, as a strategic call taken by multiple parties, we have gone down the fiction route for this show.
“Additionally, we are legally bound not to use actual names or images of either the people, objects or agencies involved. Keeping in mind our contractual obligations, publicity material of the show was designed.”
Later Akshay Kumar shared to the media about the real reason of doing Mission Mangal as the 51 year old revealed that he did Mission Mangal “specially for my daughter and children her age to familiarize them with the incredible true story of India’s mission to Mars”
Later he shared a statement on Twitter which read, “For several years, Hollywood made movies and TV shows like Star Trek, Star Wars, Gravity etc. This inspired an entire generation of inventors, scientists and explorers. I have always wanted to be part of one such movie… A movie that inspires our future generations… One that celebrates imagination and curiosity.”
