The month of April was full of excitement as people could experience best of both worlds from Avengers Endgame to Game of Thrones. April was fully lit for the release of the final series of Avenger and also Game of Thrones came in the air. Recently, the fourth episode from Game of Thrones is creating quite a buzz in social media. In the fourth episode of the fantasy series Game of Thrones, a bloop was discovered by the people and people cannot stop talking about it since then.
The HBO network even admitted that the coffee cup on the table that was showed was a mistake. According to the report of variety.com, the latte that appeared on the table was a mistake as it was supposed to Daenerys herbal tea which she has ordered.
In season 8 of Game of Thrones, the episode “The Last of the Starks” had a takeout coffee cup on a table for 2 seconds in front of Targaryen. The cup had an exact shape and size of those Starbucks cup and thus the fans assumed it to be a Starbucks cup. They even put hashtags #Starbucks trended on Twitter after the episode. After people started noticing the Starbucks coffee cup on the last series of Games of Thrones, Instagram was filled with funny and interesting comments. People had questions like “They got a Starbucks in Winterfell?” and “You’re telling me they had TWO YEARS to put together a decent show and they couldn’t even spot the goddamn Starbucks cup in Winterfell??”
The eighth season of Game of Thrones so far had given us larger than life experiences. The last season had not fallen short of anything. The makers really like to make things that are larger than life. They gave us dragons, the Battle of Winterfell, the frozen lake, the dead army sequences, the ships and not to forget Jon Snow’s loyal pet Ghost and the furry dire wolf.
Hauke Richter on The Coffee Cup Mistake
The episode got a massive backlash which was unavoidable and embarrassing. The episode within minutes got a great number of trolls. A large number of memes were made on the show. The art director of GOT, Hauke Richter said “Things can get forgotten on set. [The coffee cup gaffe] so blown out of proportion, it has not happened with ‘Thrones’ so far.”
Though it’s the biggest show in the present but we need to understand that even they can make mistakes. The kind of show they are giving us is enough to ignore one silly coffee cup.
Starbucks Wins it All
Meanwhile, amongst all these, Starbucks got on hold of the opportunity to plug their new product. In a Twitter post, they had tweeted, “TBH we’re surprised she didn’t order a Dragon Drink”. So amongst the chaos, Starbucks really seems to be the only winner.
