Vijayan Peringode, The Malayalam actor passes away at 66 due to heart attack

Vijayan Peringode was last seen in 1971 Beyond Borders which starred Mohanlal in the lead role and was directed by Major Ravi.

Vijayan Peringode: Noted Malayalam actor Vijayan Peringode passed away after suffering from cardiac arrest. The 66-year-old Vijayan has been a regular face in movies directed by senior directors Sathyan Anthikkad and Lal Jose

A statement from the family is still awaited. Vijayan’s family stated that the actor did not suffer any major health issues and he was brought to a hospital in Palakkad following a chest pain. He was then declared brought dead by the hospital. Last rites of Vijayan will be performed at his hometown Palakkad at 4 pm today.

Vijayan Peringode

The actor entered the Malayalam cinema as a production executive and later went on to become an actor and made more than 40 cine appearances.

He soon became well-known for his cameos in many films from the 1990s and 2000s following which he made his acting debut with Asthran, directed by PN Menon.

He later went on to appear in over 100 films in the likes of – Devasuram, Sreedharan Onnaam Thirumurivu, Meesamadhavan amongst others. His most recent appearance was in 2017 hit Rakshadhikari Baiju Oppu. The actor was also part of the blockbuster movie Oppam, which was released in the year 2016.

Vijayan is survived by his wife Chanjalakshi and three children, Kannan, Anadapadmanabhan and Gayathri.

Many Malayalam actors and filmmakers are expressing their grief in this moment of sadness and are taking to social media to post their condolences.
