The biggest superstar of Mollywood known as ‘The Complete Actor’, he is always been there right at the top in Malayalam cinema for around 3 decades. ‘Manjil Virinja Pookkal’ debut film: For his fans, Mohanlal debuted in cinema with Manjil Virinja Pookkal, but the actor debut with Thiranottam which is made by his friends. Thiranottam remained unreleased for almost 25 years. Unfortunately it could not get a proper release till 2005.

Some fans think that he debuted from ‘Iruvar’ movie. But Mohanlal made his debut in Tamil by ‘Gopura Vaasalile, directed by Priyadarshan. He was seen in a cameo appearance in the film.

He has acted more than 330 films in his 36 years career.

Mohanlal and Priyadarshan were enemy during their college time because they both are followers of 2 different parties. But after some time they have been friend for the longest time and share very special bond.

He was a state level boxing champion of Kerala for two consecutive years from 1977 to 78. He also win black belt in Kerala martial art Taekwondo championship.

Mohanlal refused to work with director Vishal Bhardwaj, in the film ‘Saat Khoon Maaf’ for the role of police officer. After that the director replaced him with Annu Kapoor.

The actor owns a luxury apartment in world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa. He is considers Dubai to be his ‘home away from home’.
