October Box Office Collection Day 4: minces 2.70 Crore on its first Monday

October: Monday brought in a halt in the progress of Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu starrer October. Helmed by Shoojit Sircar geared up during the weekend, but the speed slowed down on its first Monday with just 2.70 Crore.

October follows the story of two hotel management trainees, Dan (Dhawan) and Shiuli (Sandhu) and their struggle through daily life. A Tragedy ensues when Shiuli meets with an unfortunate accident. Dan, who had been more or less of an acquaintance to Shiuli earlier, now becomes a constant support for her and her family.

October Weekend Box Office Report

The film could manage 5.04 Crore on Friday and analyst expected a jump as word of mouth was really great. As expected the film jumped up during the weekends, but it did slow down on Monday.

Biz analyst Taran Adarsh shared the stats on his official Twitter account.

Friday – 5.04 Crore

Saturday – 7.47 Crore

Sunday – 7.74 Crore

Monday – 2.70 Crore

Soojit Sircar returns to direction after a gap of almost 3 years. His last outing Piku received a lot of love and similar finesse was expected from his latest October as well. The romantic drama has managed to impress both critics and the audiences.

October is penned by Juhi Chaturvedi, who also happens to be Piku’s writer as well. It marks the debut for actor Banita Sandhu and also stars theatre artist Gitanjali Rao in the role of Sandhu’s mother.

Varun Dhawan has had a quite successful box office career as almost all his outings did good business. His pairing with Sircar came as a surprise to many, but the over the top actor has just proven that he has subtle acting genes as well.
