The IPL fever has already set in. IPL has gained a lot of popularity over the years and there is a lot of excitement in the fans already. The speciality of the IPL is its format where in players of the same nation play against each other while different players across the globe who are part of different national teams play under one roof as one team. 1. Team with the smallest squad.

The two time champions of the IPL title, Team Kolkata Knight Riders is the team with the smallest squad in 2018. Where all the other teams have 25-26 players, team KKR has a squad of only 18 members. Infact KKR is also the only team that spent the last penny of its budget of 80 crores.

What is important to know here is that KKR can not afford to have any injuries or penalties as any injured player would be a huge blow to find the apt replacement.

2. Son of the billionaire industrialist in the IPL.

Aaryaman Birla who will play for Rajasthan Royals this year is the son of multi billionaire industrialist Kumar Mangalambika Birla. Yes, the industrialist father whose net worth is more than 80000 crores wasn’t picked up for mere 30 lakhs by RR.

3. Australian cricketer mentored Sandeep Lamichhane.

The 17 year old Sandeep Lamichhane is the first cricketer from Nepal to play in the IPL. He was bought by the Delhi Daredevils for 20 lakhs. However very few know that he was mentored and polished by Australian Captain and skipper Michael Clarke.

Though Clarke himself was never a regular in IPL and played only one season for now defunct Pune Warriors. He has identified new talents and showed them the way to IPL.

4. The Indian player who has played for the most number of teams.

Parthiv Patel is the only Indian Cricketer who has played for 6 franchises in IPL. The Gujarati cricketer played for CSK in 2010, Kochi Tuskers Kerala in 2011, SRH in 2013, RCB in 2014 and MI for 2015-2017. This year Parthiv Patel has returned with RCB.

5. World No. 1 in T20 also plays in IPL.

Colin Munro who is currently world No. 1 T20 batsman according to the ICC rankings will be playing under the captaincy of Gautam Gambhir this year for Delhi Daredevils.

6. Highest paid Under 19 player of IPL 2018.

The 16 year old Afghanistan player Mujeeb Zadran is the highest paid Under 19 player of IPL 2018. Mujeeb who is the 3rd Afghani player to play in IPL was purchased for 4 crores by the Kings XI Punjab.

7. The only player from Kashmir to play in IPL 2018.

The most inspiring story of an IPL player is that of KXIP Manzoor Dar. The daily wager from Kashmir who earned Rs. 60 per day signed the 60 lakh deal with Punjab. Hopefully IPL would help Manzoor to begin a better life.
