April Fools’ Day worldwide history
Now it’s the time to celebrate April Fools’ Day, on this day we can play a prank on other people without any guilt and without harm feelings. This day celebration is originated from Europe, but now whole world celebrate this day on April 1st. This year Easter Sunday and April Fools’ Day is on the same day, Sunday this is epic for a long time.
According to the historian still they are not sure about the exact roots of April Fools’ Day. But the most popular known history is that the April Fools’ Day celebrated is based on the change of calendar from the Julian to the Gregorian one. It is believed that Pope Gregory XIII was one to be responsible, he ruled the new calendar to start from January 1 instead of the previous celebration of the new year at the end of March.
Though this change in calendar was followed by France, but across Europe the people followed previous calendar the Julian calendar. And those who failed to register the use of new date and ended up celebrating New Year in April has been marked as ‘Fools’.
Anniversary of the French Revolution is also on April 1st, it seems that at the expense of the French and the English public, king George III of England cracked a joke. Some people are also celebrating this day as the end of winter and the beginning of spring.
