After long time Rani Mukherjee is back on the silver screen, her new movie Hichki hits on theater yesterday. This one is the first after her motherhood. Although the movie received positive response from all ends, the opening day box office collection of the movie remained quite below average. The movie played on 961 screens. According to the observation the film growth foot falls towards the evening shows and business from the morning shows remained dull.
First day collection
Hichki has received positive reviews from critics and Rani Mukherjee has also gained an appreciation for her performance in the film. The movie collected Rs 3.50 crore on its first day, Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted that:
“Power of SOLID CONTENT… Early trends suggest SUPER-STRONG evening + night shows for #Hichki… Fri *early estimates* between ₹ 3.35 cr and ₹ 3.50 cr [on 961 screens]… Audience feedback is supremely positive… Final numbers tomorrow.”
Hichki has received a slow start but there are high chances for its progress with the passage of time.
The film is directed by Sidharth P Malhotra and produced by Maneesh Sharma and Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films with the star Rani Mukherjee. She played the character of a teacher who suffers from Tourette Syndrome. The film is about the struggles that she faces in her professional and personal life for the condition. The film is based on the book “Front of the class: How Tourette Syndrome Made Me the Teacher I never Had” by Brad Cohen.
The movie has considered a positive review from the critics and strong word mouth. It is a non-masala film with serious content and Rani is the only big star in the movie, and the entire film rests on her shoulder. Hichki first day collection is very important to decide its destiny in the coming days.
