Queer Eye Returns on Netflix, Aiming for Acceptance.

Queer Eye, has returned with a all new Fab 5 on Netflix. All new episodes just premiered on the website. Here’s the review for the show on its tonality and its totality.

Queer Eye – The Beginning

Earlier named Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, the makeover show was launched in 2003 on the Bravo network and saw good run till 2007. The ‘for the straight guy’ was dropped in its third season to make it generic.

A unstated fact suggests that homosexual or “queer” men are superior in matters of fashion, style, personal grooming, interior design and culture.

The show’s concept revolves around it. A team of 5 experts known as the ‘Fab 5, grooms, inspires and teaches the participant. The show grabbed a Emmy Award in 2004 Outstanding Reality Program.

Initial Response

In January 2017, Netflix announced Queer Eye’s return. The response to the news was a mixed one.

For some, who needed or wanted advice it was a boon. But for some it was a basis of worrisome. According to the latter some’s, the show will influence or promote LGBT community.

The show is slightly but tastefully revamped. The eight episode season sees the boys in Atlanta instead of New York.

The shift indicates the diversity of their Participants and target audiences. In fact the bunch also varies. From a White Firemen to Trump’s fans. An American of Pakistani Decent to Black Men.

The experts help all of feel better and of course look their best. The show can be perceived as a perfect cocktail of Makeover cum matchmaking cum  food cum therapy cum real estate show. The do -gooder feel of the show remains the USP.
