Padman Movie Review : Padman is a brave attempt of Director R. Balki to talk about the menstrual Hygiene of women and to create awareness in the rural areas. The story is about a subject that is a taboo in our Indian society and the makers has done a great job by presenting it in a very sensitive and touching way. The star cast is looking awesome and Akshay Kumar’s incredible performance has already made its way to the heart of audience.

In Between the various Taboos in the society, the most unfortunate one is the Menstrual cycle of women. The topic which people don’t even talk openly, a brave attempt has been made by the Director R. Balki to talk about the personal hygiene of women specially in the rural areas and showcasing the same on the big screen. The story goes this way:
Laxmi (Akshay Kumar) marries Gayatri (Radhika Apte) and sets out on a mission to manufacture low cost sanitary pads knowing that even her wife used newspaper and rugs for her menses as the sanitary napkins were very expensive. He tries to create awareness about menstrual Hygiene and also eradicate the taboo associated with it in the society. Padman is inspired by the real life story of Arunachalam Muruganantham, the ‘Menstrual Man’ of India.
Akshay Kumar starrer Padman will release worldwide tomorrow. However special screening for Bollywood fraternity was already done on Wednesday and the B Town can’t stop praising the brave attempt. Swara Bhasker who had criticised Sanjay Leela Bhansali for glorifying ‘Sati’ in Padmaavat can’t stop praising Padman.
Akshay Kumar is very convicting in his acting and not even for a second you will feel disconnected from his pain and agony. However his emotions and variations are similar to those to Jolly LLB 2 and Toilet Ek Prem Katha. Radhika Apte is real and true to life. Sonam Kapoor is average as she is one tone actress and not much variation can be seen.
