Singer Lana Del Rey is recently out of a very critical situation – a man attempted to kidnap her. It is reported that on Friday, before the concert in Orlando a man named Michael Hunt attempted to kidnap the singer using a 3-inch folding knife. 43-year-old Hunt was arrested on Friday night by the police after they were alerted that he had threatened to kidnap Rey.
It was shared by Orlando Police tweeting :
“ARRESTED: Michael Hunt, for aggravated stalking & attempted kidnapping w/a weapon. After receiving a tip we deemed a credible threat, OPD got to him before he could get near singer Lana Del Rey last night at her show at Amway Center.”
They also released a detailed press release on Twitter :
‘On Friday, Feb. 2, Orlando police received a tip about a possible kidnapping threat to singer Lana Del Rey (Elizabeth Woolridge Grant), who was scheduled to perform at the Amway Center that night.The threats were reportedly made by Michael Hunt, 43, of Riverview, Florida. OPD Detectives considered the information a credible threat and took investigative measures to locate Hunt.OPD Officers came in contact with Hunt at Hughey Avenue and Central Boulevard on Friday evening, one block from the Amway Center. When he was taken into custody, Hunt was in possession of tickets to the Lana Del Rey performance and a knife. At no time was he able to make contact with Ms. Grant.’
Police have not revealed the exact wording of Hunt’s threat, but it was found on his Facebook page that he had shared a number of posts leading up to Rey’s concert in Orlando, announcing his love for the singer and his wish to be with her. Hunt wrote on his page on Jan 30 :
“I want to see my queen on Friday and from that day forward our decisions will be as one,”
43-year-old Michael Hunt is now held at the Orange County jail on no bond. He was taken into custody close to 9 p.m few feet from where the singer was performing at the Amway Center.
It is also reported that Hunt has served five prison terms, on charges including burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, theft with a firearm and forgery.He was released from prison on Jan. 29, 2014.
