‘Pad Man’ is the revolutionary movie challenging the social stigma around the ‘menstruation’ in India. The Pad Man movie is based on the real life story of Arunachalam Muruganantham who countered Myths and Taboos around Menstruation and tried to create awareness in the rural India. He is known for manufacturing cost effective Sanitary Napkins.

Akshay Kumar and Sonam Kapoor will be seen together on the Silver Screen after 7 years in R. Balki’s ‘Pad Man’. Though the movie revolves around an important and serious issue ‘Menstrual Hygine’, Akshay Kumar made sure that the shooting for the same comes in packages of fun and joy. Sonam Kapoor posted a picture of hers with Akshay Kumar with the Brooklyn Bridge at the back and quoting:
‘In every job that must be done, there is an element of fun.’
Release date of ‘Pad Man’ postponed to give Padmaavat a solo release.
‘Pad Man’ was initially decided to be released on the Republic Day along with Padmaavat (Padmavati). However on request of the Padmaavat’s Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Akshay Kumar didn’t hesitate to postpone the date accommodating Padmaavat a solo release. He said that Sanjay Leela Bhansali had already gone through enough to bring the movie to the Silver Screen and he was in more need of the date then he did. The star cast of Padmaavat, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor couldn’t stop thanking Akshay Kumar and called him a Man with Big heart. ‘Pad Man’ will now release alongwith Siddharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee’s ‘Aiyaary’ on 9th February.
Sonam Kapoor distributes Sanitary Pads to school girls.
Before the release of her upcoming film ‘Pad Man’ as a part of promotion, Sonam Kapoor along with the Director R. Balki, visited the schools and distributed Sanitary Napkins to girls. Besides they also created awareness about Menstrual Hygiene.
