Padmavati (Padmavat) Movie Celeb Review: After suffering the pain of the fringe outfits for months, finally the Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor starring, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmaavat (Earlier named as Padmavati’) has finally hit the screens today. Here are the live updates of reviews of what people have got to say about the huge controversy faced movie.
Review about the glorious Rajputana history ‘Padmavati’
The Sanjay Leela Bhansali has dramatically taken care of the Rajput ‘Aan Baan Shaan’ in his magnificently mounted film ‘Padmaavat’ (Padmavati)
This is how it goes. The Rajput King Ratan Singh (Shahid Kapoor) is the hero and the Muslim invader Alauddin Khilji (Ranveer Singh) is the villain. The common object of their admiration is the super Gorgeous ‘Padmavati’ (Deepika Padukone). She is and will always be Good Indian girl and wife who has a will of her own. She later on commits ‘Jauhar’, sacrificing the life for honour. However some directorial problems do exist. Otherwise how you can expect the beautiful queen jumping into the Pyre alongwith hundreds of her companions including a pregnant woman and a little girl without glorifying the event. It could have been done in a way by filling its beginning and the middle act with so much glamour that we get swept away. But alas nothing of that sort happened.
However Deepika never looked more stunning wearing those lovely costumes and her waist decorously covered. Shahid Kapoor shows off the muscles on his chest and a kohl in his eye. But the movie clearly belongs to Ranveer Singh who bites the meat with such a relish that you actually get the taste of it.
The Padmaavat is spectacular and no one does it better than Bhansali. But the 3 long hours of looping around the valour of Rajputana does make it monotonous and tiresome.
The one thing that keeps us brooding through the film is Ranveer Singh. He is electric and the deemed lovers Ranveer and Deepika ember rain on the screen and carry us away.
