The Singer, Songwriter, producer and actor, Lari White died on Tuesday Morning at the age of 52. The Country Music star was diagnosed with advanced peritoneal cancer just five months ago. White succumbed to the disease on January 23 at the age of 52.White shared the news of her rare and aggressive form of the disease in a blog post.
A page by the name of Caring Bridge,was created to keep her fans updated about her progress. She is survived by her husband Chuck Cannon and three children.
In an attempt to aid for her illness Cannon created a GoFundMe page. The page escalated to at least $100,000 (£700k) in the wake of her sudden illness.
In 1988, Lari white won the reality competition show “You Can Be a Star.”
Her first album “Lead Me Not,” was released in 1993. Her Voice established her as respected songwriter and singer.
She won 3 Grammy awards. The first one for her contribution in “Amazing Grace: A Country Salute to Gospel,” in 1996. “Amazing Grace 2,” got her the second Grammy in 1998. The Third one was for soundtrack for the movie “The Apostle,” which featured June Carter Cash and Billy Joe Shaver
White’s mother wrote a touching message for her on the Caring Bridge page just few days before.
“ From the beginning, we knew that she was ‘something else’ … wise and funny, intelligent and super-talented … so loving, kind and compassionate … with a heart as big as all of heaven. I have never known a person who did not love her and respect her, as evidenced by the great outpouring of love and concern of so many people. Every role she has played in life has been superb, and most of all, her role as mother. We are blessed to be her family. [Husband] Chuck [Cannon] and their three children are blessed to have her as wife and mother. Thank you, God, for Lari!”
Lin-Manuel Miranda, The creator of Hamilton took to twitter after she heard the news.
