Woody Allen seems to be in extreme muddy waters. A tale from his past is here to bite him back. His adopted daughter Dylan Farrow with former partner Mia Farrow has accused him of sexual abuse.
So much so that Allen’s next ‘A Rainy Day In New York’ might not make it the theatres. A lot of industry members have started to distanced themselves from him. Including the cast of his next Timothée Chalamet, Griffin Newman and Rebecca Hall. They have decided to donate their salary from the film to Times up Moment (attach link).
Alec Baldwin, however have decided to stick by Allen. In a series of Tweets , he compares Dylan Farrow to Mayella Ewell. In the classic novel To Kill a Mockingbird, Ewell falsely accuses an African-American man of rape.
Baldwin points out that Dylan is taking advantage of tears to convince everyone that her side of story is the truer version.
Baldwin also brings in Allen’s another adopted daughter Moses Farrow.
Allen and Baldwin have worked together on three projects; he cares about his friend more than the backlash he shall receive after these tweets.
The actor, producer, director don’t want to abide by any culprit. But, he doesn’t even want an innocent to be believed as one.
Woody Allen was accused by Dylan in 1990s while she was a child. Allen was relived of the charges then. In 2014, the charges were reiterated. The current atmosphere of #MeToo movement and Time’s Up initiative has given more weight to the allegation.
