This is the story of the period musical drama is based on the life times of 19th century showman PT Barnum, who founded the famous Barnum and Bailey Circus.

When The Greatest Showman was released there was big competition at the box office. Star Wars: The Last Jedi was still dominating in its second week, after Jumaji: welcome to the Jungle and Pitch Perfect 3, and The Greatest Showman was in the fourth place. Despite being a bit slow out of the gate, The Greatest Showman has just held the box office from weekend to weekend.

In first week of The Greatest Showman earned 19 million dollar, however that is the total six days including the weekends. The movie actually earned 8.8 million dollar in first weekend and still in the fourth place domestically, in second weekend the movie made 15.5 million dollar it increased by 72% it first opening weekend. This is very good for the movie playing in 3000 theaters. This is also good for large release movie where the opening weekend was technically a week due to holidays. Because some of the movies drop 50% or more at the box office after the opening weekend.

The Greatest Showman earn 84 million dollar till now counting both domestic and foreign. Surprisingly this movie made in the cost of 84 million dollar before advertisement, so by the music this movie will cover its loss for the studio. The movie maker is thankful to the audience who spread the word of mouth for the movie after which the movie earned more as compared to its first weekend.
