Big Little Lies was initially planned as a one-off limited series. But the Awards and accolades have placed the wheel of Second Season in motion.
The second season comes as a great news for all the fans. Meanwhile its definitely better news for the actors of Big Little Lies.
The Show has grabbed major awards at almost every award show. Emmy’s, Golden Globes, Critic’s Choice Awards, NAACP Image Awards. The show is also nominated in Screen Actors Guild Awards, slated to happen on January 21.
According to the sources, the deal for the second season of Big Little lies is groundbreaking.
Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon are getting a $1 Million check for each episode. The Executive producer’s fee and points of the show’s backend additional.
Not just the leading ladies but everyone is getting substantial raise. Zoe Kravitz’s total season one salary was $380,000, it has been raised to $3 million. Shailene Woodley is getting a sizable raise from her season one’s $1.7 million.
Looks like Television is all set to pay grand salaries. We reported earlier that Ellen Pompeo is taking a whooping $ 2 million salary.
The massive success of the first season is not the only reason for the grand raise. The Tech Giant Apple is entering the game-field of TV Space with a budget of $1 billion in its first year.
Apple is raising the bars at least in terms of Salary. Jennifer Aniston and Reese are starring in a scripted 20 episode series. Still unnamed it is inspired by Brian Stelter’s morning TV tome Top of the Morning.
Witherspoon is taking $1.25 million each episode. Inclusive of executive producing fees and points on the show’s backend. Which sort of forced HBO to raise its offering.
This confirms that Season two is definitely in the pipeline. But the fans are happy not ecstatic about the news. As the show won’t air until 2019.
Like everybody else now our eyes are also set for 2019 now.
