Miss World 2017: 17 Years later, Manushi Chillar from India becomes Miss World
17 long years later we are back again with the crown of Miss World.
Priyanka Chopra in 2000 gave India this crown of Miss World years before and now after 17 years of coveted prayings, Manushi Chillar won the Miss World beauty pageant 2017 on 18th od November 2017.
Miss England and Miss Mexico, Stephanie Hil and Andrea Meza were the first and second runner-up respectively.
Beautiful and very talented was born in a Haryanvi Doctors family. Her father and mother, Dr. Mitra Basu Chillar and Neelam Chillar are scientist and Associate professor at the Defence Research and Development Organisation and the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences.
Manushi Chillar is a 20 years old trained Kuchipudi dancer trained under legendary dancers Kaushalya Reddy and Raja and Radha Reddy. Miss Chillar has done her schooling at St. Thomas’ School in New Delhi. Manushi wants to become a Cardiac Surgeon from the Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women in Sonipat. Manushi was also a part of the National School of Drama.
When she reached the time where she was amongst the top fives she was asked one question about what profession deserves the maximum salary and why, in the question and answer round.
In reply to this tricky question, she replied even more beautifully, she said, “I think a mother is of the highest respect. I don’t think it’s just about cash but love and respect she gives to someone. She is the biggest inspiration in my life. The mother should get the highest respect.”
About 180 women around the world participated to win the Miss World’s crown. But on 18th November 2017, Manushi Chillar was crowned to be the 6th Miss World from India and the first after Priyanka Chopra’s 2000 win.
Miss. Chillar has also won the title of the Femina Miss India 2017 where she represented Haryana. She was also a part of Project Shakti where she treated and cured over 5000 plus women visiting 20 villages to spread the Campaign’s goal of spreading consciousness about menstrual hygiene.
Puerto Rico’s Stephanie Del Valle, the winner of last year’s Miss World’s title, passed on Manushi Chillar the crown.
