Disha Vakani is an Indian film and television actress. She became famous for playing in some of the Gujarati places like Kamal Patel versus Dhamal Patel and Lali-Lila. We have also seen her appearing in some Bollywood movies like Devdas(2002) and Jodha Akbar(2008). And she is most known for the lead role of Daya Jethalal Gada in Tarak Mehta ka Oolta Chashmah broadcasted in Sab TV since 2008.
She was born in a Kemcho-Majama-family who lived in Ahmedabad. She graduated in dramatic and arts from Gujarati college in Ahmedabad. On 24th November 2015, she got married to a Mumbai based chartered accountant named Mayur Padia. Her brother, Mayur Vakani playing the role of Sundar is also playing her reel life brother in the same television serial.
Tarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah recently found celebrating its 9th years of the show. Characters like Dilip Joshi, as Jethalal Champaklal Gada, Bhavya Gandhi as Tipendra Gada, Munmun Dutta as Babita Iyer and Shailesh Lodha in the titular role. It is India’s longest-running sitcom serial, Neela Telefilm private limited is producing the show from July 28th, 2008 on Sab TV. On November 2nd,2015 the show started on Sony Pal. The show is based on a column of the called Duniya ne Oondha Chashmah which is written by the by columnist and journalist Tarak Mehta who writes for Gujarati weekly magazine Chitralekha. It portrays a residential society named Gokuldham in Powder Gali, Gurgaon, Mumbai and it shows the bond between people staying in there together.
As per the news, Daya Ben Gada is expecting a baby in real life. She recently had a baby shower, pictures of which had hit the social media. In her baby shower, we can see the whole cast of Tarak Mehta attending her baby shower. We have even seen Tipendra Gada whose real-life name is the Bhavya Gandhi shared a picture on Instagram captioning “glad to be a part of my ‘reel’ mothers ‘real’ baby shower ceremony”.
Disha Vakani was about to quit Tarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah as she is expecting a baby but the producers of the show requested her to be a part of the show keeping in mind about the popularity of the character and offered to her an extended maternity leave.
Tarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah producer Asit Modi told that they have rescheduled her shooting for the routines to fit in 5-6 episodes a day and also have managed to take closeup shots and will also arrange shots at her home.
